We bought a new fridge a couple years ago. I wanted a big fridge a found a GE. This thing barely fit though our front door. In fact I had to remove the door from the hinges to get it through, pia!
Anyway, that is the nosiest fridge I’ve heard. Something seems like it’s running 90% of the time, not the compressor running it’s fans inside circulating the air.
Defrosting

We bought the Fridgidaire. Our old fridge would fit inside. It is HUGE, 29.2 cu. in. (IIRC)
Very quiet, except when ice dumps and refills.

Bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer last Aug. The washer grinds and growls when washing and doesn't use enough water to clean clothes.. It tears some clothes up in the process and I wish we could exchange both at Lowes but I doubt if they'd take them back now. And both were advertised as manufactured in the USA!
I've read that Speed Queen is tops and that's what we'll buy next.

Purchased a speed queen washer and dryer 2 years ago, and have nothing but great things to say about them. Purchased at Cook Carson in Pauls valley. 2 years ago they were $1,050 a piece IIRC. They’re made in the US and have a good warranty.

Talking to the appliance repair guy that was sent out to look at our old dishwasher. We asked him what brands to look at. He told us "Nothing that sounds like a TV brand." No GE, LGE, etc. Whirlpool, Maytag, Speed Queen, even Roper and Estate are all okay.
Add Bosch to the list. Unless they screw them up, I'll never own anything else for a dishwasher.

I also own a HE washer. POS

Sounds like hell. Growls like a starving wolf. If you use the bulky setting, it will fill with water instead of giving your clothes a shower they will get a fairly decent bath. Sometimes if something is really dirty it needs about 3 wash cycles to get clean. Now I ask you, is that High Efficency? I do not believe so.
