Years ago, we had the Maytag full size stackable washer and dryer. Sold them to a guy at work when they were 19 years old. I saw him years after he bought them and they were still running fine. You can bend in the metal on these newer cheap made appliances by just pushing them into place. A good case of they don't make them like they used to.

Wife insisted on some of the fancy LG front loaders.
The dryer even spritzes some steam in there to insure no wrinkles.
6 years now without issues until recently.
The washer needs the breaker turned off and back on after a few seconds to reset the computer board. Must be microsoft based.

Since moving to AZ in 2009, we went through two crappy Kenmore washer and dryer sets. Four years ago we opted to try Speed Queen based on reviews and because they are made in the USA. They get heavy use (at least two loads a day). Allegedly they were from a batch with bad boards. The boards were replaced on both and we wore the heating element out on the dryer. Everything was fixed quickly under warranty. And, the washer's board replacement fixed the need to go shut it's circuit breaker off about every third load.

Back in business with the new Speed Queen washer / dryer set
We bought the middle tier of the top loading series, TR500 and DR500

Wash cycles run about 30 minutes compared to our old front loader taking 1 to 1 1/2 hours
Clothes come out of the new washer a lot wetter than they did out of the old front loader. Going to take a lot longer for clothes that we hang dry
Dryer does have a couple settings I may try, near dry and less dry that might work to get them to a point to finish hang drying without shrinkage effect.

Haven't tried the Normal / Eco setting on the washer that says it doesn't fill tub with water for final rinse, instead saying it spritzes clothes during final rinse and spin
Any SQ users here that use that ECO mode? IF so does it get soap out of clothes as good as filling tub with water for final rinse and spin?

I did reverse the swing of the dryer door for out layout

I've got LG tv, phone, dishwasher and fridge and have no real problems. A warning to those looking at new fridges. Some stick out way more than others but don't look it at the store.
Bought mine and it stuck out so much it barely lets the dishwasher open. About 3-5 inches more.

I don't know what happened, but at one time things manufactured lasted for decades. I suspect the government had a hand in things since they farmed out a lot of our manufacturing jobs to foreign countries. Was it NAFTA?

That would be the router.
