Just bought my first 1911 last night. I'm afraid I'm not ever going to like another handgun. It feels so natural in my hand and looks sweet as hell. I haven't got to shoot it yet because I made the transaction after dark but i will test it today.

Enjoy. I like my RIA 1911 almost as much as my Kimber.
The only problem I've found is that the factory mag won't feed hollow points but the standard 7 round mags I use for my Kimber give me no problems.

I made 2 minor modifications to mine. I trimmed a bit off the back of the hammer and very slightly radiused the edges of the grip safety where it was rubbing my hand.

Very cool, congrats. The 1911 is still the high water mark for handgun design, IMO. Nothing beats 'em.

The only problem with my 1911s is the fact they're making me want a high end custom one!

You probably love it now, but you may not once you hit the range with it.

1911s are gorgeous and they feel great in the paw, but they are famous for reliability issues. Yours may not. It may run like a sewing machine.

Then again, it could be a jam-o-matic.

I'm just sayin'. :rolleyes2

Evan, how many quality 1911s have you owned?

Yes, they are famous for reliability issues. They are made famous by those who dont know any better.

Nah! You're right. I've only been totin' a gun every day for the past 20 sumthin' years. I don't know what works. :disappoin

I've never "owned" a high dollar 1911. I can't afford one.

However...I have "fired" several.

Pay no attention to me hard_r. I'm just an ignorant old man. :rolleyes2
