I weigh 260 and wear only IWB. I wear mine just in front of my hip bone and it hides very well. I use a fairly inexpensive Winthrop holster.
That's promising. I weight 220 and am 6'-1" tall and have a 34" waist so I need to give it a try. I do have that spare tire waist though

Oh, crap! You're not close to fat. My right leg is almost 34". I think my spare tire hides my weapon, a Kahr MK9.

For example, I find a simple kydex IWB from RMHolsters to work great for my Glock 43, but I can't imagine carrying a larger gun like a 1911 in the same rig. I like that we have so many choices; kinda like handguns and rifles and so on. Choices are good.

Braggart. I'm 5'10" and I haven't seen a 34" waist in a long damn time! I still find IWB at 3:30ish works well though. Dang I wish I wasn't fat and old and ...

If you have the right holster (Keepers Concealment ) it makes all the difference. Here is a full size 1911 AIWB.

Nice rig. Maybe it's just that leather and the 1911 seems to go together like peanut butter and jelly.
