You may remember when I stole this err, brought home this Ithaca X5 Lightning .22lr rifle.

Well, I finally decided the original finish while not ugly, it was so cracked and no longer a protective barrier that it needed refinished.
Boy was I surprised at what i found!!!
Two-tone Walnut with near perfect grain lines and possibly the best looking factory stock I have uncovered yet.
So as i got it.
After stripping the finish, sanding, NO STAIN, and Tung oil varnish. I also added a 1980s Kmart 3-9 scope and found a pair of flip up scope covers.
