New Project 22 - Mossberg 151M(a)

My impatience has come to bite me in the rear again. After buying the parts I needed, I came across this auction and couldn't pass it up. It's a complete 151M stock. It even has all of the pieces I was missing to begin with...and then some. I'll either sell the duplicate parts and make some (maybe most) of my money back or go on the hunt for another project 151K barreled action.

So, here are some pics of that 151K stock. It was pretty grimy from years of use on the underside of the butt, grip and forearm. I hope it wasn't a bad thing, but I gave it a gentle scrub with Murphys Oil Soap. Looks much better now, IMO. Should I apply anything like BLO or other to protect it? I should probably revisit that stock finishing thread over in the military surplus section.

Here are couple of it mocked up in the stock. Obviously, I had to remove the s130 peep to get it to fit. Still waiting on the magazine tube tension spring and the takedown screw.

So, I came across an eBay auction for a complete 151M(b) stock that included trigger parts, takedown screws, magazine tube and tension spring. Basically, every piece that didn't come with the pets I originally bought. Guess I should have been more patient when looking for a stock. It showed up in the mail today. It's in pretty good shape and all I had to do was drop the barreled action in. I just wish the metal condition matched the stock condition, but that would be nit picky.

Gonna try to get this (and a couple others) out to the range tomorrow, if the weather cooperates.

I also need to figure out what to do with all of these spare parts. Sell them and recoup some of the costs for the second stock? Or find another project? lol
