Has almost nothing to do with horsepower. Horsepower is a calculated number that uses measured torque and RPM. It is biased toward RPM. The 110 horse Case steamer up at Pawnee develops over 12,000 ft/lbs of torque but only turns a couple hundred RPM. Almost any little econobox will make at least 110 horse power but have to turn upwards of 6000 RPM to compensate for very little torque.
