This advice is IBS (internert bull$h!t) Springs wear out from overcompression, stretching, and use. Just sitting with a full mag has essentially zero effect on spring life/strength. If it's the wrong spring (which I doubt) replace it, preferably with one from Wolff.

A few years ago someone found some loaded 1911 mags from WW II. They all fed just fine, or so a fairly well documented internet story said. (IBS? possibly) What is really provable is the characteristics of spring steel. Engineers will tell you the truth. Fastest death=stretching. Next comes overcompression, often from modifying mag followers to allow one more round in a mag. CB

Interesting. Well if it fte again I'll have to change plan. I may be asking a dummy ? But can to low grain of ammo cause fte? Kimber states 124 grain-147 hollow point. And well I'm not spending the money to practice with hollow points. Been using brass federal 115grain. Possible cause? Or does the eject ramp need polished?

Springs don't wear out from sitting in one postion like criticalbass said. It's from the stretching and compressing. Now MAYBE, you could heat up the spring to relieve the stress risers in the metal, but I wouldn't advise it. Also is it not grabbing the case or is it stovepiping? My thought is maybe you're not having the same amount of force pushing the slide back because the bullet will want to leave the barrel sooner and not create as much pressure pushing back on the slide.

Not really. It doesn't jam vertical, it's horizontal. The next round will be on it way out of the mag and will make it a pain it the ass to even get the mag out. Seems like the next round is trying feed to quick or it's to slow to eject.

I hope you get it running...your Avatar and your screen name depend on it!
