Well I am looking to get a new "used" truck and I was just curious if anyone has any experience good or bad with the newer Dodge trucks with the hemi engines? How's the 4x4 in these trucks? Seems like for the price you can get more truck for your money going with a dodge, but is there good reason for that?

My brother had a 2000 3500 diesel. We could not get his truck to go into 4-lo for some reason during the last snow storm. In my chevy all I had to do was put 'er in nuetral tap the button and away we went. I don't know that there are problems with all dodge 4x4 systems but that is my only experience with them.

I have a 2009 Ram 1500 with the Hemi. Besides factor recalls. The truck is GREAT. I've put a deck lid on it and added step rails. I average 18 MPG so don't believe to 25 MPG stuff.

I always hated Dodge trucks! But, in 2007 (2008 year model), I needed a new pickup, and with Dodge's lifetime powertrain warranty, I figured, what the heck? I'll keep it for a couple years and trade it off if it's a dog.

So, 113,000 miles and five years later, it has been my best truck yet, out of a few Fords and Chevys. ! I have not had a single operating issue with this vehicle. The air flow from the floor to vent has been the only thing that has not been perfect!

I bought it when gas was $4.50 a gallon, so I went with the 4.7L V8 2x4....... I've been pleased with the power pulling my boat. I get 18 mpg on average (not pulling).

Very common experience. Those that don't own them say they are crap and dog them and those that give them a shot are converts.

Just bought the wife a new 12' Laramie 4x4 and the only complaint is the "premium" Alpine audio system which is anything but premium sound quality. The head unit with the hard drive is great just not good enough sound quality from the speakers for my taste.

Been drivng Dodge trucks since 1994, very few problems. Currently have a 2011 crew cab 1500 4x4 with Hemi, great ride. the 2009 and up models are a whole differant beast than the previous years. I had a 2007 that was a great truck. My 2002 was a good one but had the dreaded busted dash, turns out it was a design problem, the way the dash mounts into the truck, it absorbs vibrations from the frame and will bust all to pieces. the 2009 models fixed that issue.
