Oh it's not for a lack of going, they're just not here like usual. We're hunting the same ponds that we (sometimes up to 5/6 of us) would limit almost everytime, and we're struggling to see a limit of birds! Glad you're getting into them!

No they don't have enough water to have any vegetation underwater. We only had success around Copan was during teal season when there was actually a little water. Our success has come from other places up in Kansas and out west.

It's been a strange season. We smashed the ducks and geese during the first half when I took days off from chasing bambi. Now that I'm in full on waterfowl mode, things have slowed down. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful to have water and a decent amount of birds, but it hasn't been exactly lights out.

I like the idea of a feather "Post em" thread.

Each time I've gone in the last 2 weeks, I've seen at max 30 birds. That's in a 5 hour sit. Haven't been since Sunday, so maybe the cold front has brought birds in.

thats the problem with a couple of our ponds. the water is below the vegatation line. i leased a nice little 80 acres this year mainly for the beautiful pond that was on it and its a mile south of a big watershed. well, with the drought, my son and his buddies have managed to scratch a few out. i haven't even gone over there, its an extra 15 mile round trp and not worth it! you lucky bird hunters round up your pics and get a thread going. i'll start taking some pics of some goose hunts. we've had a couple decent ones.
