It appears they were non-violent drug offenders, and they simply had firearms in possession while committing the non-violent crime. This is a pro-gun move, and Obama is basically saying: that really isn't a crime. What is the problem with this?

So a firearm charge (likely possession during commission) automatically makes one a violent criminal? Wow.

It isn't a double standard. In short, those people should never have been in prison to begin with.

So in other words, possession of a firearm inherently makes one violent. At least that's my interpretation of calling this a double standard.

So the problem is guns, not people? I mean, if they were non-violent without the firearm, does the firearm make them violent, especially if they never used it in an aggressive manner?
