This wasn't a Presidential decision. The decision is directly attributed, in the article, to the BCT commander. They still get two hots a day. It takes a huge logistics train to get A-rats to those forward bases...some of which are only reachable by rotary wing. By dropping one hot meal a day, they can eliminate a big part of that train...less missions, less troops in danger, smaller footprint.

Troops always ***** about chow...they have forever. When drawdowns happen, things get cut...things that you once enjoyed get taken away. Get over it or get out of the military.

What until they start bitching about the Lithuanian barber chicks getting pulled out of the forward bases....oh the tragedy!

Heads up guys, the Soldiers on the front OP's & occupying the worst of the hot zones, they don't get 2 hot meals anyway. The ones that are used to 3 square meals a day are the support guys, chilling by the PX Food Court in places like Bagram & Kandahar. The 11B's that are actually firing shots for more than just target practice are lucky if they have enough water to last a week half the time. I don't shed a tear that some fat supply guys don't get 3 squares a day. There is a reason Soldiers typically come back from a deployment a little skinnier...
