Want To Buy OHP marked Ruger Mini 14

A co-worker of mine has asked me to help her find her husband, who is a Lt. with the troop an OHP marked mini 14. He’s retiring soon and this was the only gun he wasn’t able to obtain from his almost 30 years with OHP. She wants to gift it to him when he retires. I’ve looked online and anything I’ve found is years old ads, so maybe someone here will be able to help. Thanks!

I just wanted to put some pics and info on here, I'm doing some looking to see what I can find.

Some are marked with O.H.P. (approximately 1300) & some are not (approximately 300).
A slightly longer stock, M1 Carbine style sling mount, fiberglass handguard, red rubber recoil pad, & a oiler in the buttstock. Some are stamped with the last 3 digits of the serial number on the bottom of the grip. Known serial number range of 181-0xxxx and 181-47568 to 181-51296.
Kinda rare.

Man, I had forgotten all about those! At least ten years ago, my buddy had a table at Wanenmacher, and while I was visiting with him, he pointed out a Mini 14 on his table, saying I might be interested since it was OHP marked. He offered me it for a good price, but I declined since I really wasn’t into the platform, and he sold it to a walk-in later that day. How little did I know.

I remember when OHP switched to the AR15. There was quite a stink when they were sold by the state. I was told by a Trooper buddy of mine that the Troopers were promised that they could buy them from the state when they were sold and the state broke its promise.
