Dave, if you can't find a longer dip stick, just cut the tube off a little shorter. Easy fix.

You forgot about the 50' of chow line, or relative bearing grease or the valve stretcher.
You kid, but on aircraft engines, the oil dipstick goes into a removable plastic tube that extends down to the crankcase. Those tubes are available in different lengths (as are the dipsticks), so using a shorter tube is a legit possibility.
New/replacement dipsticks usually come unmarked so you can calibrate it to your particular engine/sump combination, particularly in the homebuilt/experimental world.
It is a known mistake in the Fiat car world that some Abarths came from the factory with the wrong length dipsticks. Some had a yellow handle and some an orange one.
