Howdy fellow gun nuts,
I need some opinions on this because I’m second guessing myself. When I received the car it was overfilled and the dealer did an oil change to fix it. Well I thought surely they couldn’t mess it up again. This is overfilled right? Would it be alright to drive it ? It’s been driving fine except for the p0198 code-engine oil temperature sensor high. My research on it says most likely a bad sensor. Thanks for your responses

Wipe off the stick. Check it again keeping the stick pointed down so the oil doesn’t run up over the mark.

Also look at both sides of the stick. Sometimes the oil level will be higher on one side because of the way oil drains back down into the pan.

Let it set overnight and check it before starting it the next morning.

Could be that goofy wire coil dipstick is holding residual oil.
And it could be the dealer used specs for a Ram truck with the same engine.
It may be a fact that the ram takes 2 more quarts.

Research it and see.
But do let it sit overnight.
