The more of these invasions that are met with armed homeowners, the more likely they will stop. I wish there was more information on how the victims have been targeted so others could use that information to keep from being victimized as well.

How sad, this country has slipped into chaos, no where near the respect or courtesy that MOST citizens practiced until recent times. Now, with a crappy economy, huge fiscal debt and multi-thousands with felony records (never to get a decent job, and obviously don't care about their fellow citizens) we aren't safe in our own homes.
F*ck the gangs, the smugglers, the apathetic federal gov't and the high and mighty that dare tell "common folk" that we can't defend our lives or homes with firearms.
As for the perps that commit this crap.....doom on them! :explode:

Police said home robberies are up 29 percent in Tulsa this year compared with the same period last year, and they noted a rash of high-profile cases where either the resident or the intruder was shot during a residential robbery or burglary. Suspects have been captured in most of the cases.

Other high-profile recent cases of residential burglaries or robberies that ended in shootings or other extreme violence this year include:

Sunday: A 57-year-old Tulsa man was shot in the abdomen in what police said was a home-invasion attempt. The man was outside his home in the 4200 block of North Frankfort Avenue when two men with their faces covered attempted to enter his home about 12:50 a.m., a police captain said. The victim stopped the men from entering his home, but one assailant hit the man on the head with a gun handle, and the other shot him in the abdomen, police said.

Aug. 9: A Tulsa homeowner shot a man who tried to break into his house in the 2300 block of South 121st East Avenue after the homeowner called the police and told the man to leave. Michael Brian Crawford, 36, was shot once in the left shoulder, police said. He was treated at a hospital and then arrested on one count of first-degree burglary.

July 27: A man was shot three times with his own gun after he interrupted a burglary at his midtown home during the noon hour. Two teens were arrested and charged in connection with the shooting and break-in at a home in the 3900 block of South Madison Avenue.

July 15: The victim of a home invasion at the Brighton Park apartments in the 4800 block of South Darlington Avenue fought off two attackers by shooting both in the head, killing one. Prosecutors charged Daniel Laraye Holman, 23, with felony murder in the death of his alleged accomplice, Darreon Daquion Carter, 18, in the attempted robbery and rape.

July 6: Robbers entered the home of prominent criminal defense attorney Rabon Martin, in the 1400 block of South Carson Avenue. Martin, who was terminally ill, told police that he and his adult daughter were forced to the ground and pistol-whipped. The robbers stole cash, laptop computers and handguns from Martin’s home. Police have made arrests in the case. Martin died Aug. 27 from cancer.

June 20: Attorney Stephen Rodolf reported that three men held him and two out-of-town guests captive and threatened their lives at his home in the 2400 block of South Owasso Place. He said the robbers entered the home through an open garage door and bound two of the victims - Rodolf and a child - as they beat and pistol-whipped the child’s father. Police have arrested suspects the case.

Put more bad guys in jail, and do so for longer periods. Really, really longer periods. Old school. No parole. No TV. No weights. Chain gang. Hard, hard labor. No fun!

.

Exactly, they don't need TV or weights anyway when they're working all day giving back to the community. When they're not working, they'll be sleeping, going to sleep, taking care of hygiene, or eating. If they can't work they sit in their cell and think about what they did. Thats how I see it. If we're gonna pay to keep them in there at least they can work instead of get free meals and watch wheel of fortune.

Home Invasion Robberies Happening throughout Tulsa
Last Update: 12/18/2008 6:40 pm
* Home Invasions

(Thursday, December 18, 2008 5:00 pm by Kaci Christian, FOX23.com, Tulsa OK) – A string of home invasion robberies—there have already been five just this week, and sixteen since the beginning of the month. FOX 23’s Kaci Christian joins us now with more on where these robberies are happening.

“They’re happening all over, and Tulsa Police tell me no one is immune,” reports FOX 23’s Kaci Christian. “Just take a look at this map showing the ones from this week.”

Two happened in east Tulsa, the first one near 2500 S 111th E Ave. Police have two suspects in this robbery, described as black males, ages 18-20, one about 5’10” and 160 lbs., and the other 5’8” 140 lbs.

Police say the same pair hit a second location near 3400 S 114th E Ave.

Other homes targeted this week included one west of the river, by RiverParks, near 1900 S Maybelle; one in midtown in the 2200 block of E 14th; and another in north Tulsa, in a housing project near 2500 E 37th St N. In this last case, a woman answered the door when two black males knocked, and they kicked in the door and robbed her at gunpoint.

I knew Jonathan Rush. His dad is a lawyer here in Barlesville. Mom is a friend of the family and works for Jonathan's grandmother. I haven't heard any update on the status of the trial.

Tulsan injured after shot fired during home invasion

Published: 9/10/2010 2:22 AM

A Tulsa man was grazed by a bullet or flying debris when two men kicked in his front door and fired two shots into his duplex early Thursday, he said.

The men broke into the house in the 3200 block of South Allegheny Avenue about 4:40 a.m., police said.

Ike Foster, 30, said he was opening his front door to go to a nearby convenience store when he saw two men wearing white masks outside.

Foster slammed the door immediately, locked the deadbolt and put his shoulder to the door as the men slammed into it, he said.

One of the assailants shot through the door.

Foster wasn't seriously injured, but a wound from a graze or debris from the bullet hole in the door left blood on Foster's shorts, he said.

Foster called for his roommate, Chris Davis, 27, who heard the shot and came downstairs, Foster said.

"First thing I thought is that he was shot," Davis said.

The assailants then kicked in the door, and one of them had a gun inside the home when Foster grabbed the man's hand.

Another shot flew down the entry hall, narrowly missing Davis, he said.

Foster said he yelled to Davis to get a shotgun from an upstairs room, but by the time Davis came down with the gun, the intruders had run away, he said.

Foster and Davis chased the men but lost them west of the residence, police said.

"I don't have enemies," Foster said. "I don't have any reason for people to do that."

The two men run a small
music studio out of their home and think it's possible that the intruders might have been trying to steal their equipment, Foster said.

The intruders were described as black, about 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet tall and thin, police said. They wore white masks over their faces and dark clothing.

Both were armed with small handguns, police reported.
