I too heard the Ammusement Park Rumor for just north and west of Shawnee. At some point about 10 years ago I noticed there was some farmland about 1 mile north of I-40 on Kickapoo for sale. I called to check on it and they wanted something in the neighborhood of 10-15k per acre. That led me to believe that the rumor was probably started by the owners of that land in the hopes of getting someone to buy his overpriced farmland.

I've always heard so many rumors about Outlaws using Oklahoma as "hideouts" that I don't know which ones are true.

They actually didn't Hide Out...they just all moved to Sasakwa and lived long, happy lives......
