I would imagine though that if international laws were allowed to be used in US Courts, this would create a real Bonanza for trial lawyers everywhere. I would think the ABA would really be supportive of such a move that would tie up our legal system and make them extremely rich.

President Obama chose Harold Koh as the legal adviser for the State Department. Harold Koh says that there’s nothing wrong with Sharia law. The NY Post reported that:

JUDGES should interpret the Constitution according to other nations’ legal “norms.” Sharia law could apply to disputes in US courts. The United States constitutes an “axis of disobedience” along with North Korea and Saddam-era Iraq.
