Remove the boldest part and you would be right. Killings will ALWAYS continue; and they will be carried out by anyone with the will and desire - or motive - to do so. The tools of the trade are just that: tools.

I agree, but one day we're going to "miss the days" when somebody just mixed a dumb bomb from fertilizer and fuel, but instead we're going to be encountering people who can rig bombs from laptops, portable stereos, trunck bombs, etc., and be placed on board public transportation.

Instead of suspecting some guy in a hat who was at the Boston Marathon, we'll be trying to find somone who rigged a bomb using a smartphone and AC adaptor to go off days or weeks ahead.

You don't need an engineering degree to do that.

Most high schoolers now probably have the basic knowledge (even if they don't have intelligence or desire) to figure out how to use a timer or phone as a remote detonator.

I'll play.

Also isn't it interesting that the ricin letter shut down mail getting to senators days before a vote on 2nd amendment freedoms? Snail mail I'd imagine is still the primary way that the older generation (and NRA campaigns) usually chooses to communicate with their representatives.?

It's standard procedure to screen all snail mail to Legislators and has been SOP for many years.
If you will get on their web pages, a lot of them actually say to use electronic communication vs mail, as a letter may take weeks getting through the screening process.
