Optic on handgun

Am I old and set in my ways? Is everyone running a red or green dot on their carry pistols?

I'm trying to make the change to a red dot. I bought two pistols with red dots just in case I decide I like 'em.

I have no problem with red dots on handguns, but in my opinion, a red dot on a carry gun is ridiculous. To each his own though…

Nope, not me. My EDC is a Kimber Micro 9 and she points where I aim.

I'm not set in my ways, but I qualify for the old part. My eyesight has gone downhill since I hit 40 (now 61). If I use my glasses I can see my sights but not the target, if I don't use my glasses I can see the target but not my sights so the green-red dot sights fix my problem. If it was a case where it was a defensive type situation it would be more of a point-and-shoot situation. Sights are not really required.

I love a red/green dot the older I get for general shooting. really is nice for my eyes these days for accuracy. But not for my every day carry.

Not if you suffer from Astigmatism bad. I can use them in a rifle with a magnifier behind them. Otherwise a starburst.
