I just got back from Clear Sight Lasik center to get check to see if I'm a candidate for Lasik surgery. I am but I had no idea it was so expensive.
15-to-20-minute surgery for each eye. $7000 per eye. Wow, It was a bit of a shock. I think I will just keep wearing my glasses for a while.
I thought it was around $2500

Inflation strikes again

Here, but occasionally There.
One of my daughters had lasik several years ago and is very happy with the results. When I had cataract surgery a couple of years ago, I opted for the extra cost for Rx implants and after wearing glasses since the fifth grade, I was free of them. Worth the extra $.

Similar here. I wore glasses ever since I was a kid, but I probably couldn't tell exactly what age. I also had cataract surgery with "special lenses" to replace the natural ones and have really enjoyed not having to wear glasses. I was in the other day for an eye exam and began a regimen of eye injections for wet macular degeneration. I go in again on March 3 for another eye injection and to check for improvement from the first one.

One thing they did say was that I was seeing 20/20 in my left eye and 20/50 in my right eye, which has the macular degeneration. Prior to the cataract surgery, my vision was 20/400.

I have the wet macular in the left eye. Thankfully not the right eye which is my shooting eye. Get injections into the eye every 5 weeks or so.
