Good Wednesday morning.
Sounds like me Dennis.Spent the day cleaning up the shop and checking out the boat batteries and so on. Prime fishing time is coming up and need to get ready.
I installed two interstate batteries last fall, running the cheap battery tenders on them all winter bought from harbor freight. The water levels were good with voltages at 13.6 when checking today.Sounds like me Dennis.
My new Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor is being delivered tomorrow and going into town to pick up brand new batteries. I’m getting excited about the upcoming fishing season.
Hey Terry, I would love to meet you as well.Dancer,
I've been thinking about dropping by your studio just to meet you. Is there a good time with regards to day and time when you aren't busy giving lessons?
That’s great. I was thinking about the new lithium 24 volt battery for mine but after a lot of research , I haves decided to stay with the regular deep cell batteries. I think Honey Creek Outdoors in Grove sells Interstate batteries.I installed two interstate batteries last fall, running the cheap battery tenders on them all winter bought from harbor freight. Bought the smaller units for the ATV/ATC, ZTR and so on. Every one of them started right up after almost three months sitting idle. I recommend them. Standard batteries can fail if falling to zero volts vs deep cycle.
A good Jackson Hole story. Years ago my wife and I were a staying at Twa-wa-tee Lodge in Jackson Hole, in a cabin. Great place, and this was around the 4th of July. I got up and the weather was great, in the 60's, and clear. This lodge is on the eastern side of Jackson Hole, up near the pass by the same name, which I likely miss-spelled. I decided to take a walk and there was a forest service road leaving the cabin area. A few yards in there was a sign stating, " Caution Grizzly area, special rules apply"! WE keep a lady smithg 38 pistil in the car, so I decideed to put that in my pocket just in case. I walked way back , gorgeous day, and I could see the Grand Tetons, and Jackson lake, in the distance, When I got back to the cabin I told my wife about the warning sign and said I'm glad we had the pistol in the car! She, being the smart ass she is said, what were you going to do with that little pistol, shoot yourself, if a grizzly got you down?Since I gave an example of a photographer not being observant with my picture at the Navajo Bridges, I'll add another one here.
A lot of photos that I have show lakes that lean, so I either have photographic evidence that physics is wrong, or maybe I have one leg shorter than the other.
All those above are at Jackson Lake near the Grand Tetons. That last photo isn't so bad as the others.
This last one is right here in Oklahoma at Grand Lake. Dancer better be careful or his waterfront place might go dry one of these days.
Now, to be honest with that last one, it was a picture taken "on the fly." I was framing the picture for the sunset when I noticed a movement in the viewfinder of the camera. I had no idea of what it was but I tripped the shutter anyway. After taking the shot, the bird went off to my left and I saw then that it was a grey Egret or whatever heading for its nesting area. So, with that one, I didn't really have time to make sure the lake was horizontal.
