Praying for you and your family Mac! Unfortunately, it’s not an easy road. I dealt with that situation with my mom a few years ago. She lived with us for a couple of years before she got to the point where she couldn’t be left alone at all. If you would like, I’d be more than happy to talk with you about my experience, and what I did throughout the stages. I completely understand if you don’t feel like talking about it now, but my offer is always there.
Thanks, but I already know more about it than I want to. :/

My wife had Alzheimer's (apparently) for the last 6 years, and was bedfast since late 2019. I lost her Jan 2nd of this year.

Sorry for your loss, and I really do appreciate the offer. It's a horrible disease.

Good evening guys,
What a beautiful day it has been today. I drove down to Tulsa and worked a couple of hours early this morning. Drove back up to Grove and met the wife at Lowes. Purchased some more wood flooring to finish out the lake house. We are flooring our master bedroom in a couple of weeks then the whole place will have new flooring.
Then I pulled out one of my neighbors boats and did a full tuneup (oil change, new spark plugs, changed lower unit oil, new gas/water separator and new fuel filter) on his Yamaha 250. Then gave it good power wash inside and out.
It was great being out in the sun today. I needed some natural vitamin D.

Now we are sitting on the deck eating pizza.

What a great day.
Hope it was a great day for ya’ll as well.
When people get my age, well most people, you figure out, that all that crap we thought was the mesure of sucess, was just a fantisy! We have all seen people work, and strive, to reach some goal, fame, money, notoriety, etc. and invariably as soon as they make it, most self destruct! Right now in Oklahoma, we have many, many, people literally destroying themselves chasing the jack pot at the end of the rainbow, in all these Cacinos! ! As a kid, my dad had us boys, literally chasing the end of the rainbow, looking for a pot of gold, running all over the farm, to keep us occupied I guess, so he could get a some work done. We never found it! I finally found success, I'm 76 I think, and have figured out, success is not material things, but a state of mind, We live simply, have enough to pay our bills, and eat, have kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, that like us, and are good honorable human-beings, and self suppliant. and are quite capable of taking care of them-selves! So like George Burns once said, " anyday I wake up, is a good day!" We just set in the peanut gallery and WATCH what happens, and let the young people take care of their own business, and love them win, lose, or draw!

Man this weather is killing me. I stepped out back and looked around. For the first time in a LONG time none of the neighbors' trees are blocking the sun my yard. It is BEAUTIFUL! 😁

Sounds like my back yard. WE don't have any trees at all. But, the neighbor behind us has plenty and, of course, he does not take care of them. I had our son and grandson over Sunday to trim all the crap hanging over our fence, and it made a world of difference. Of course, it won't last. And, those trees are going to ruin our fence. The roots have already started pushing under the fence in a few places, and have a sizeable portion of the east fence leaning in.
Enjoy it while we got it!
