Good morning, All. Thoughts and prayers for those close to or fighting the fires.

Today is my appointment to get my left eye examined and get the injection for Macular Degeneration. The wife's medical issues are all taken care of, so this is the last "medical" hang-up. After today, we can notify the folks at our Summer job that we can probably start working. I suspect that I will have another appointment in 8 weeks, but at least we can get something done to see more country.

Good luck on the Macular injections, makes me cringe thinking of them. That’s my next step, hopefully 2-3++ years… my Dad used to get them at Dean McGee Eye Ins..in the late 90’s. They did help slow the progression… GOOD LUCK!

I woke up at 1:30 (thanks, Nero, pictured below) so I got up and cleaned and diced up some green bell peppers to go in the dehydrator. Then laid down and went back to sleep. These headaches are killing me. I really need the weather to level out for a bit -- I'm pretty sure when it finally breaks I'm gonna sleep HARD for at least a month. Lol

I woke up at 1:30 (thanks, Nero, pictured below) so I got up and cleaned and diced up some green bell peppers to go in the dehydrator. Then laid down and went back to sleep. The weather is the shitz here as well. Forntunately no head aches. Hope you feel better and can nap this afternoon.

I've tried most migraine medicines, including all the injectables. Rizatriptan (Maxalt) does the best for me. My Mom also had these headaches and hers lessened in frequency & severity beginning at the age I'm currently at. I'm hoping mine do the same.

Update on this one. I goofed and wrote that it was my left eye, but it is actually my right eye that is getting the injections. The procedure isn't bad because they deaden the eye pretty well with eye drops. I only feel a bit of pressure mostly when they insert the needle.

There is definitely some improvement in the right eye, but the doctor did say that my left eye "could be in danger" as well. I guess we'll see.

In other news, we contacted our Summer work employers today after my appointment and there are potentials that are definitely interesting to us. Wyoming is out because the company didn't get that bid, but they have bids out for New Mexico, Arizona, and they definitely have Texas, so we could be working any of those. They also might need some help in Alabama, but the really interesting one is that they are bidding for the contract to survey the roads in the national parks. That could could be a logistical nightmare because the parks have been getting record numbers of people since the pandemic started. Also, with that in mind, getting lodging anywhere near the parks could be interesting as well.

But for now, it is still a waiting game for us.

Hope you get what you want for Summer employment. The National Parks would be very cool, indeed; even if lodging is difficult.

Good morning, hope everyone has a great day. Looks like we might get a day without much wind. Planning on scouting my turkey hunting area late this afternoon/evening after the work gets done.

Took the backroads coming home from OKC, the turkeys are moving. Seen 3 small groups of hens, 4 single Jakes and 1 Tom strutting.

Sure made me want to get out and get a bird.
