Here, but occasionally There.
Finally....

....done with Texas road surveying.

We finished our own region of Texas (north part) last Wednesday. Then, the office asked us to do some redo's around Childress and up in the Panhandle. Yesterday involved the drive from Paris, TX to Childress area and today was doing the Panhandle. We started out with a few records in Dalhart, then over to the Lake Merideth and Borger area, followed up by a trip up near Perryton, then back down towards Canadian and finally to McLean, TX for the last records.

McLean was considered to be a problem because it was late in the day and the records ran from east to west toward the sun. If the sun is wrong, it washes out the front cameras or has too great of a glare off of the pavement. However, God earned a "high five" by sending a few clouds our way just as we got to the McLean roads.

Leaving Amarillo in the morning to head home, and then we will take the van back to the office on Monday.

We are SO READY for this to end this year.

Wife and I actually saw a Bentley automobile for the first time ever....

....read all the way to the bottom for the irony.

Kindly ignore the finger in the last photo. That is what I get for taking pictures with my cell phone instead of a Nikon

The irony is that this vehicle was parked at a Walmart store in Commerce, Texas, a town with a total of just over 9000 people. Now, in all honesty, Commerce is home to one of the Texas A&M colleges, so during the school year, the population may be higher.

Or, maybe it belongs to a Texas A&M professor?

I saw a Maserati the other day on Highway 136 north of Guymon.

Good evening all,
Just got back to the lake house. We went to our neighbors 40th wedding anniversary tonight at one of the restaurants here on the lake. It was pretty nice. Then the wife and I stopped by the Casino on the way home and doubled our money. All in all, it was a good night. Oh, and they paid for everyone’s dinner at the restaurant. SCORE!

Got home from Missouri with no well water to the house yesterday.
Spent 1/2 day yesterday and 9 hours today on a chain saw with the tractor clearing wood and brush so a friend can get in there with a track hoe to find where the leak is. Drought probably caused the plastic pipe separation.
I tried digging out the wet spot with the front loader on the tractor but the tree roots were a major obstacle.
Backhoe will fix that.
The person that installed the original water pipe screwed up more times than I can mention. I’ve been repairing his screw-ups for the 33 years we’ve lived here. 😡😡

The was a car collector here in Ponca that had the Bentley Coupe. At one time he had a collection of Shelby Mustangs and a Pantera. There is a Lamborghini of some sort here and the sleek BMW EV sports car. Someone here has a Maserati convertible I see once in a while. I haven't seen it but, a friend said he saw an Aston Martin around several times.

Can you replace with that good ol 2” SDR11 black poly pipe like we use in oil and gas production?

We had a Maserati just up the street from us for a time. I never would have know it was a Maserati without seeing the badging on the trunk. Really disappointing. Just looked like a run of the mill mid size sedan.

Good morning everyone. My oldest son and I have gone dove hunting the last couple of weekends. Yesterday, we drove down to Hackberry Flats. It’s been pretty sparse, but we did manage to shoot a couple birds.

@PanhandleGlocker Are you seeing many pheasant out your way? I’m trying to decide if we want to go to the panhandle, or head over into Kansas.

I see quite a few north of Guymon close to the Kansas line and around the Straight area.
