Well sh*t!!! :censored:
My daughter wasn’t feeling good a couple weeks ago (like a sinus infection), but the Dr didn’t give her a covid test. My wife has been feeling achy and sinusy for almost a week, and she finally went to the Dr this morning and tested positive for covid. I felt fine while I was in OK, but since I got home on Wednesday, my sinuses have been giving me fits. I’m sure now that I have the roni too, but I won’t be going to the Dr. I take the ”covid vitamins“ daily, but I quit taking a monthly dose of ivomec a couple months ago. I took a dose a few minutes ago and will continue for a few days now.
I don’t really feel bad, but my sinuses hurt. This makes the third time my wife and daughter have brought the covid home to me.:rolleyes2

Good morning, All.

We are on "stand-by" with our job for this weekend. They were out the other day with our work van testing things out and the fuel pump went out. They aren't sure whether it can be replaced in time for us to leave for Rhode Island on Saturday. We might have to delay our departure until perhaps Monday of next week.

But then, I'd rather that thing happen BEFORE we go on the road rather than WHILE we are out with it. We have already booked hotel reservations for our trip to the state and for two weeks within the state. The wife says she booked in such a way that she can cancel/change our reservations without penalty.

So, now it is "good evening, All." Update to our work is this: Tomorrow morning, we go to church and after getting out, we meet up with our youngest son for lunch, fill-up of the Expedition, and then head for the Tulsa area. He will drop us off at a hotel near our work, and we will spend tomorrow night there and then pick up our work van on Monday morning.

After receiving instructions on equipment (computers) operations, we will start for Rhode Island. Seeing that the company limits us to how much time we can work per day (10 hours), it will take us until Wednesday to reach Rhode Island. Then, Thursday morning, we can start by hitting all the "certification sites" in the state and then seeing if the database is ready for us to work. Even if the database isn't ready, Rhode Island wants us to be in the state while waiting.

While I'm anxious to see some new country, I'm not anxious about driving our work van in that area, but at least it is for a limited time. Initially, we were told we would be up there for 2 weeks and then come back to be ready to do part of South Carolina. However, depending on different circumstances and if South Carolina's database isn't ready, we could be longer than 2 weeks in RI. My understanding is that we are contracted for about 3000 miles of roads in the state. Considering that the internet tells me that there are only something like 3300 "lane miles" in RI, if we get lucky with weather and all, it might not take too long to do the state.

Are you allowed to carry weapons while on this job? Dang, you can drive across RI in a few minutes? Surprised they have 3000 miles of roadway.

Nope. No weapons of any kind, thus that device that is in my pocket is now called a "pocket tool."

I did state that according to the internet, RI has over 3000 "lane miles." That means that some of their roads and interstates may be more than 2 lanes. While we normally only work the right hand lane of most highways and interstates, they do occasionally have us work some left hand lanes as well.
