Y'all be careful and keep an eye on the weather today. I gotta work tonight so it should be interesting. Believe it or not, we will have some dingalings shopping tonight like it's just another day in paradise. And will probably complain when their vehicle gets swooped up and carried off to the lake. Lol

I just got back from assessing my place, and the little creek/drainage running through washed debris out into the pasture, my pond overflowed, and the big creek at the back is still out of its banks. Overall, not to bad and could’ve been a lot worse. :thumb:

Glad there was no major damage. That was a heck of a rain! We’re still being mostly teased around here.

I posted earlier about the flooding at my brother and Mother’s place. My brother had plans to leave today to take his wife, kids, and our mother to a “crab festival” in Galveston for the weekend, and he left before the water receded in the pasture to see if the fences had washed out. He calls me a couple hours ago wanting me to go check the fences to make sure his cows won’t get out, so being the good brother that I am, I went and walked the fences. It ended up that when I got there his kid’s horse was out of the pasture and grazing his yard, because there’s about 200 yards of perimeter fence laying flat on the ground. Fortunately, his cows didn’t get out, but I had to put up a hot wire to keep them away from the downed fence.
Their neighbor lady came over while I was there and asked the very question I was thinking. Who in the hell leaves town while your place is in the process of flooding?!?

Sounds like your brother has a cussing coming his way. Just don’t let your mother hear it. He’s lucky that the cattle weren’t halfway across the county.

Nah, I’ll just let it go. This goes back to the thread about doing for others. Not that I would do something so irresponsible, but if I did ask for help, I can assure you that my brother would be “too busy” or I would have to listen to him b*tch about it for months which is a large part of why I hate to and nearly never ask anyone for anything.
