Oh yeah ... He gets Benedryl and roast beef ... Or chicken.

And the weird thing that helps a little -- I put his collar and leash on him. And just his collar will not do. He has to have his leash on. AND ...

His fuzzy bed has to be between the ottoman and the sofa, with my feet on the ottoman so he can hide under my legs. I tried covering that space with a blanket and making him a cave.

Nope. Nothing doing ... Has to be MY legs. No one else's legs will do. 😖 And then if there is a particularly loud noise he will have to be on my lap, in my face, anyway.
We used to give our lab/pit cross a Benadryl tablet and take him for a car ride to Braums to get an ice cream in a cup with an empty cone to chew up and he seemed to do OK.........but then again maybe he was pulling a con job on us for ice cream and a car ride.

After a nice, cooling rain, we took a walk around our neighborhood lake and saw this rainbow. Everyone enjoy tomorrow’s events.

I got the call today I wish I had gotten 6 months ago. Job offer out of the oilfield. Problem is now I have a job I like again, and it pays a lot better than the one offered. Each has its pros/cons; my main worry in the "hostile takeover" world the gas field has became is that my current gig gets bought out and goes to s**t a year from now. Decisions, decisions...

I got up this morning to two surprises. We got a little much needed rain last night, and my 5 year old Mr Coffee coffeemaker evidently died after delivering my morning pick me up yesterday.:cry3:
I’ve been working on a clearing/clean up job for a new neighbor about a half mile north of my house. I don’t know the guy and assumed by the way he talked and what he wanted done that he had plenty of money, but when I was about $1500 into the job, he started crawfishing a little and scaling back his want list. My wife figured he was going to try to get out of paying me, but I finished up yesterday and had a check waiting on me.:thumb:

My daughter and sh*tbird (her boyfriend) are heading to Galveston for the day, my wife is heading to Houston to be with her Mom while her Dad’s in ICU, so it’s just me and the dogs, cats, and cows. I’m fixing to make bacon wrapped beef tips for breakfast and to snack on the rest of the day.

Y’all have a happy and safe holiday!!!:thumb:

Go to ACE Hardware and get a glass stovetop percolator for $22 and some change. Thank me later. The coffee tastes better and it is MUCH easier to clean. (Am I the only person on the planet that worries what is growing inside the guts of that Mr. Coffee -- the parts that you can't reach that never get dried off or washed??? 🤷🤦🤦😖) And yes, I do drive Grumpy daft sometimes ... 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😘

Sorry to hear about your wife's dad. Sometimes a day to yourself and the critters is just what the doctor ordered! 😇😇😇 Enjoy it!!

Here, but occasionally There.
Wife and I are now two-thirds of the way home and spending the night in Terre Haute, IN tonight. So, if you set off fireworks, send a few high in the sky so I can see them.

I also met a very charming and thoughtful young lady today. We stopped at a highway rest stop so that I could go do some business. As I walked into that building, this young lady of about 4 or 5 years old (I have a hard time judging kids' ages) opened the door for me. I thanked her and went in to the restroom. When I came back out, she opened the door for me again. There was a woman standing nearby with some other kids, so I asked the young lady if this woman was her mother. She said, "No, she isn't."

So, I told her that when she saw her mother again to tell her that this old fellow REALLY appreciated that she had taught her daughter how to be polite and respectful. The woman standing nearby said, "We'll make sure that her mother knows what you said." (I'm guessing that the woman standing nearby was a friend of the family.)

I don’t think that I could be paid enough to go to Galveston today. Hopefully they got there early enough to pick out a spot on the beach. I lived in Houston many years ago, and I did enjoy camping at Boliver during the winter months, but summertime was a crowded mess on the weekends. I hope everything turns out good for your father in-law.
