Good morning folks, hope everyone is staying hydrated. I’m in the long and slow process of moving homesteads. We decided to move shortly before Covid shut everything down, and material prices forced us to postpone. The price for materials have come down to a reasonable level so we are getting a little more done now. The electric meter was installed last week, and I’m working on setting up the main electric distribution panel along with some outdoor outlets for our RV and temp power for tools. Yesterday, I bought all the supplies and mounted the boxes. I set the cover for the main panel on the ground while mounting the box. When I went to pick it up, it was so hot that I could have fried an egg on it. If all goes well today, I’ll get everything wired together and have power going. If not, the hair that I have left on my head will probably be very curly. It’s 50/50.

Be careful out there!!!

I need to go to the PO. And Sam's. I guess there's no time like the present. Sigh. If me not wanting to leave the house gets any worse it's gonna get me classified as "mental". Lol I feel like sitting down on the floor, kicking my feet and crying "But I don't wanna ..." 😭😭😭

😂😂😂
Hang on a minute. You’re not already classified as “mental”?!?

My body feels like I’ve been wrestling a grizzly bear in the Sahara desert all day. I actually wrestled wire in the good old Oklahoma August heat. I think wrestling a grizzly bear might be a little easier than pulling wire. I didn’t quite get finished today because I had to make a trip to town for a different conduit run than what I originally planned. Hopefully, I’ll get it finished in the morning before it gets to hot.

Here, but occasionally There.
There was a guy on another message board that was looking for a pound of powder and some magnum large rifle primers, and we had been PMing about trying to meet up. He went MIA/incommunicado on Saturday the 12th. I thought he might’ve found some closer or changed his mind, but when I checked in on that board last night, I found out he died from a blood clot on Saturday the 12th. This is the second time this has happened to someone I was dealing with.

It’s only supposed to 107* here in east TX today, so it should be a great day to work outside (extreme sarcasm). :rolleyes2
Y’all have a great day!!!

Pfffttt...

...while working our Summer jobs here in Graham, TX, the temp here today was 109 degrees. The thermometer on our work van, though, said it was 120 degrees at one time.

Moving on eastward towards Bowie, TX on Sunday though.

Short day to finish the Graham area tomorrow.

Guess I'm gonna have to make a run to OKC today when I got to so much to do around here. Well crap!! Our washer hasn't been working very good for the past year at least, now the dryer just quit Thursday night. I have been fixing these things for awhile and flat tired of it. Wife went and looked locally yesterday and got sticker shock. :yikes2::yikes2: Plain jane small 3.5 cubic foot washer and dryer nothing fancy $1700.00. Our Sears and independent appliance store closed awhile back no competition anymore so people are getting raked over the coals. Looked on line and can get same W/D in city $700 cheaper. But maybe this way she can pick out what she wants. I know it want be nothing fancy because she is worse than me when it comes to electronics.

May have to hit a few pawn or gun shops if I got any money left.:thumbup3:

Sticker shock is right.

After 30 years of use I replaced our Whirlpool washer and dryer two weeks ago.....the dryer started making a clunking noise and had a funny smell sorta like hot wiring and because of it's age I couldn't see getting it fixed so I just replaced both the washer and dryer.

Ended up getting a new Speed Queen TR7 washer and a matching DR7 dryer that ran over $2800.00 delivered and installed for the pair......we're both in our early 70's and if the Speed Queen brand is as good as what everyone says they should last us the rest of our lives.

Yeah I screwed up about 15 yrs ago. Had a Speed Queen commercial coin operated washer and dryer given to me shortly after we got married. It came out of the barracks at BurnsFlat Air Force base. We used it for 20yrs not one problem. When we moved I gave them to a friend in need and bought a new set. In 15yrs this is my 2nd W/D set that has quit, when I talked to my friend Thursday he is still using those Speed Queens I gave him.

My favorite nephew’s birthday party is tomorrow night, and my wife put me in charge of getting him something. I try to get him either fun stuff or something practical that he can have and use the rest of his life, and this year I put together a tool bag with a hammer, pliers, wrenches, screwdriver, and a tape measure. I wanted to get him something fun to go along with it, so I went to my most hated place on earth….WalMart. I say it every d@mn time I walk in the door that I’m never going back, but after a year or three, the memory fades and I submit myself to that sh*tshow again.

Have I told y’all how much I hate WalMart?!? :censored: :finger:
