I guess that if I should "excuse" my frequent shopping in Walmart, it is generally in the ones in smaller cities/towns.

Been to the forbidden zone (Walmart) one time in 14yrs. Grandkid needed something for school that no one else had. I took her to get it and sat in the parking lot, it was educational just watching those going in and out, sealed my fortitude of avoiding the place. They say don't judge a book by its cover but to many of those covers were already open.Same here. I have not been in a Wal-Mart in nearly 20 years. No ****. Last year I went in to check for a glucose monitor for Grumpy. I was in there just long enough to grab the monitor he wanted, go check out and call Grumpy to meet me at the door I was coming out of.
OhhhEemmmmGEEEEEE!!I went home, cracked open a cold beer and made a solemn promise to myself to NEVER NEVER NEVER go back into one of those hellholes EVER again. Nope, nohow no way. Gosh, it was awful!!
There isn’t one thing in that hell hole that can’t be sourced elsewhere and shipped to my home or current location, wherever that may be at any point in time.

Oh no ... I have to say he almost always "volunteers" to stay in the car -- to "keep it cool ... Or warm ..." He's always like "Just call me when you check out and I'll come up to the door to get ya."
Yesterday turned out to be a good day considering the drive to OKC shopping for a new washer & dryer. Other than nobody keeps much in stock anymore but you can order it and we will deliver for a fee. Finally found a set in stock in the color and options my wife wanted. Saved $500 over what we would have paid locally on a smaller less options models. Got to eat a nice lunch in the process.
Enjoyed the day with my wife even, we don't get to do that very often with our work schedules. The best part is by the time we got back home late last night we had a new W/D set and was $1k richer after deducting the cost of said W/D set. My wife is the luckiest person I ever seen. Stopped at casino on the way back and gave her $300 bucks. Jokingly told her to go win back what we paid for W/D set. Well, she did plus $1k and my $300 back.
If I known she was gonna do that I would have picked up that Henry I seen at H&H while I was there.

@Shinneryfarmer I hear you on the in stock deal. I almost always just bought stuff at Sears in Elk City, so after they closed down we made our first appliance trip to OKC a few months ago. Lowes, HD, no one keeps anything on hand nowadays apparently. Can't argue with free delivery though I guess, just seemed odd to me.
Yes it's odd to me to me to. We had a heck of a time finding some in stock. They may have 30 models on the floor with only 2 in stock or they have the washer and no matching dryer. Relying on shipping for everything is in my thinking a disaster waiting to happen. Then the shipping dates don't coincide with your schedule, " OK, what time will they be there? " "Sometime that day is all I can say" . So one of you have to take off all day to be there, nope not happening,
