Ok, my wife and I drove up after she got out of school yesterday with plans to meet our daughter for supper in Norman. We didn’t get up there until around 8:30, and by the time we got to campus and picked her up, it was a little after 9. We were shocked at how many restaurants close at 9 IN A COLLEGE TOWN. What’s up with that?!? Even Starbucks on Lindsey street was locked up tight.:anyone:
Never have bought anything there (or any Starbucks) but we live just a few blocks from that new Starbucks on the corner of Lindsey and Berry that just recently opened up.

Next time that you're in town and your bellies get to growling and you can't find a place open we'd be proud to fix y'all up a few of mama's famous fried baloney and mustard sandwiches and offer you a cold beverage of your choice......just give us a shout.

Good afternoon folks, I had somewhat of an aggravating/suspicious afternoon. About a week ago, I received a phone call from a lady claiming to be a contractor with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency. She wanted to do a background check on a former tenant that is in the service. The former tenant is a good guy with a young family so I agreed to meet with her. We setup the meeting for 1:00 today at a coffee shop in Lawton. The coffee shop was her suggestion. I showed up about 10 minutes early and waited until about 1:15 before leaving. When I arrived, I sent her a text, and I also called her number before I was leaving and left a voicemail. I’ve heard nothing back from her. I wasted about an hour and half today including my drive time and $5 for a cup of overpriced lemonade.

Dang! I haven't had a fried bologna sammich in YEARS! (Grumpy doesn't like the smell of fried bologna. 😒 He said it was his dad's favorite so I wonder if it's because the smell reminds him of his dad and makes him sad. 🤷 Yeah I took Psych101 ... Lol) Anyway THAT looks heavenly!! I can smell it from here! 😍😍😍

Here, but occasionally There.
I seldom ever show pictures of food, but for this occasion, I will make an exception. One of my favorites is found at Abuelo's (just west of North May and Memorial in OKC) and is called a "Mexican Stack." It is described to include sour cream and guacamole, but I always have those two items left off of my meal.

It does take a knife and fork to cut through the tortilla, but to me it is well worth it.

Just as an FYI, the plate in these pictures look smaller than they are.

They are a real agency. That they didn't compete the investigation may indicate that you were scammed or that they were actually targeting YOU and needed recent (telephoto) images of you 🙁

Yeah, I researched the agency before setting up the meeting. I’m not sure what was/is going on with it. I don’t see an angle for any kind of scam. I’m also not that hard to find. I’m outside the majority of most days which would make it pretty easy to get a recent photo of me. I honestly don’t know what to think. Maybe she just got sick or had some kind of emergency, and I’ll hear back from her on Monday.

Maybe. I know when I was going through my own TS security clearance for my MOS, this agency (or something similar) contacted several of my friends, past landlords, and relatives but it was all done by phone. None had to meet anyone anywhere or face2face. But again that was before 9/11 so things probably have changed since then.

Been a busy couple of days for me. Helped my wife make some shirts for the Unlimited Outdoor Adventures youth hunt next weekend on Friday night til around 2300.

Up at 0700 Sat morning to meet a couple more UOA members for breakfast, then we set up our trailer/booth at the local Dragging Main day here in Cheyenne. Spent most of the day there, ended up selling enough tickets to make a little profit, plus we will sell more next weekend during the hunt before we draw the winner.

Got done there around 2100, went and "dragged main" with the wife until 2230ish, then to the local pub to hang out. Ended up there until 0200 this morning 🤣. Up at 0900 this morning, helped our niece unload a Uhaul. Her and her husband are moving back from Ft Riley once he ETS's. Finished up the shirt making mid day, then did some small work on the remodel this evening. I'll be glad when this house work is FINISHED!

The hunts are a ton of work. I told a couple new volunteers they may question why they are doing this today, but Saturday night at the campfire they will see exactly why they do it.

When the FBI checked my family and neighbors as a background check prior to a TS clearance, they came knocking in the middle of the night. They want to meet when the person is not in their best state of mind and more likely to not conceal information. Scared my parents to death when they opened the door.
That is a legit agency. Don't know why they chose to meet at a coffee shop, but maybe they found out what they needed prior to meeting with you. Still not a good deal to stiff you and not let you know.
