The hunts are a ton of work. I told a couple new volunteers they may question why they are doing this today, but Saturday night at the campfire they will see exactly why they do it.
We don't camp like yall do, but I have witnessed new friends be made, kids killing their first deer, even shooting a "real gun" for the first time in the last few years. Some funny stories, and some sad times when a kid doesn't make it from one hunt to the next. All I wish is that I had started volunteering sooner!

When the FBI checked my family and neighbors as a background check prior to a TS clearance, they came knocking in the middle of the night. They want to meet when the person is not in their best state of mind and more likely to not conceal information. Scared my parents to death when they opened the door.
That is a legit agency. Don't know why they chose to meet at a coffee shop, but maybe they found out what they needed prior to meeting with you. Still not a good deal to stiff you and not let you know.

Yet another reason not to have friends. Anybody wake me up in the middle of the night when I have enough trouble getting to sleep as it is is probably gonna go back to the office with CPSTD. 😡😡😡😡

Today has been a long day. I squeezed in one last hunt this morning before heading home, and of course, my wife wasn’t ready when I got back to the house. I knew she was angling at something when she kept asking me which route I was going to take today, and it ended up that she wanted me to go back through Norman to eat at Torchy’s Tacos. It worked out time wise that we were able to pick up our daughter to eat with us and drop her back off for her next class.
While in Norman, I met and got to visit a little with Hangfire while picking up some “supplies” for a project he’s asked me to work on.
Long story a little shorter, what should’ve been an 8ish hour drive turned into an 11 hour excursion, and I’m pretty beat.

Enjoy playing around with the 6.5x55 Swed Encore @retrieverman I've had it for several years and I figured that it was about time that it drew blood.

I forgot to mention it to you yesterday but the barrel is bent just a tad and the scope crosshairs kinda waller around inside the tube but I'm sure that you'll find a way to work around it. :)

I’m used to adapting to issues while hunting, so my eye evidently compensated for the bent barrel. After the first three shots, I’m confident that if a pig comes within 50 yards it’s going to be in trouble. :thumb:

Just seems like it's one thing after another.

Had skin cancer removed from my nose again Mon. morning (9 stitches) and it looks like I may have to head back to the dermatologist this morning.....the dressing came off sometime in the night and I may have popped a stitch or two in my sleep.

Mama sure ain't gonna be real happy when she gets up and sees the mess I made on her pillowcase and sheets. :)
