Sorry I haven't checked in yet, but I haven't fired up the computer yet because of the need to keep ice on my knees and them elevated as well. I'm posting this from my phone, and I hate doing it this way.

I am doing quite well now that the pain is curtailed by the medicine. It was REALLY painful to get up off of the commode, but we now have installed a 3 1/2" toilet seat riser and don't need help getting up. Yeah, I know, too much information.

The physical therapy guy at the hospital was pleased with my walking and stair climbing, and today, the home health guy was also pleased with my physical abilities after all of this.

Sadly, I have to keep up the knee icing for 2 weeks after the surgery, so we can't get me out much. They also want the legs elevated.

As for a picture of the day, this is NOT one of mine, but it is a site in Utah that.I hope this surgery will let me go see. There are ruins out at the.end of this "peninsula."

Been busy and just went through about 10-15 pages on this thread to catch up. Congrats @retrieverman on the grandson! And hope y'all are healing up well @Hangfire and @TerryMiller .

My wife and I made a quick trip to Louisiana last weekend for a wedding. My friends daughter got married, and since I was in the military with both parents and have known the daughter basically her whole life, I thought we should go. Ceremony only lasted about 20 minutes, so not bad at all. Got to hang out with some of the old "battle buddies" which is always good times.

Plan to run up to Butch's tomorrow and shoot a bit, have some new to me guns that I haven't tried out yet. Will also be playing guide for a local outfitter who has 7 hog hunters coming in this weekend. His usual helper has to work at his fulltime job, so I told him I could help. Hope everyone has a good Friday and weekend!

Good morning folks,
Not much planned today. Believe it or not, most of the cove where we are on Grand, is still frozen. The middle started to thaw a little yesterday but mostly still frozen.
The wife and I plan to run up to Joplin, MO today for supplies but other than that, not much else.

I did order my new scope, scope mount and an extended mag release for the new CZ457 Varmint yesterday. Can’t wait for them to come in and get the rifle completed.

Have a great Friday everyone.

Here, but occasionally There.
A.follow up on my new knees. The physical therapy guy at the hospital seemed impressed with my walking the morning after the surgery, and the home health guy who first came out a day or.two also seemed impressed. Then the second (and regular) home health guy that came out today was really impressed. He even asked if I was.sure they did a surgery. After only three days of after surgery walking and exercise, I can even walk without a walker or cane.

I am especially pleased with the doctors' and hospital staff's work.

@TerryMiller - glad to hear you are doing so well! Just be careful! I hope the therapist cleared you to attempt walking without the walker or cane. That might be dangerous if you push it too hard or quickly!
I will reiterate this. Just because you “can” get around without a walker doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. They stressed to my wife that a fall on new knees could be disastrous.
I’m really glad to hear your recovery is going so well, but you sure don’t want to do anything to set yourself back.

Any of y’all actually seen the surgical procedure in pics? Our neighbor at the farm just had both done with a professional photographer to take pictures and videos of the surgery. He sent them to me.
One of his companies manufactures and sells the hardware/knees that he had installed on himself.

Good evening all,

Well, we ran up to Joplin, MO today for what I thought was a trip to Sam’s for supplies but wound up going to our favorite spa and getting 90 minute full body massages. Yep, the wife surprised me and wow, it was so good.
When we got back, went down and check on the boat and the water is still frozen solid. I’m not sure how thick it is but I could stand on it. I‘ve only seen the lake this frozen on one other occasion. Crazy
Ordered me a new Wheeler F.A.T. Stix with 12 Screwdriver Bits and 5 Torque Limiters. I couldn’t find my old torque screwdriver and I will need one to install the scope on the CZ. I ordered it yesterday and hope it gets here fast. LOL!!!

Hope you all had a great Friday.
