Sounds like this may be the last day of summer-like weather and we should start seeing days more like Fall. I’m ready for that. I can’t do the heat like I used to.

Have a blessed day!

That was the great thing about our Summer job this year. Being in Oregon for 9 1/2 weeks and then northern national parks had is in much cooler weather than here in Oklahoma. The only southern park we worked was both rims of the Grand Canyon and that was just finished up about a week and a half ago.

Work has deemed fit that we need outfitted with more tools, so off to Amazon I went a few days ago. This 4-32" inside mic kit was amongst the purchases, I'm sure there are better brands but this one should suffice for what we do...(nevermind the boss, he was just wondering if it was edible 🤣)

In the town where I grew up, we had two different railroads running through town. The Santa Fe was on the north side of town, roughly 2 or 3 blocks from the house I grew up in, and "The Katy" ran through on the south side of town. Keyes was the western terminus of The Katy line and had some way of turning around to go back. The Santa Fe's western terminus was in Boise City, which is about 18 miles west of Keyes.

While working our Summer job in Denison, TX, I stumbled across this M-K-T depot.

Both railroads into Keyes are pretty much gone. The Santa Fe "might" still have rail tracks going through town, but the M-K-T took theirs up many years ago.

This is Mount Mazama in Oregon, better known as the volcano with Crater Lake. To give a slight idea of its actual size, there is a "rim drive" around the crater that is 32.93 miles long. We had the pleasure of taking that rim drive back a number of years ago.

We visited Crater Lake on one of our motorcycle trips. We were there on July 1. We were not able to drive the entire Rim Drive as 1/2 of it was still being cleared of snow pack from the winter. The video they show of having that road cleared was very impressive.
