OU is Set Up...

UConn??? Are you kidding?? I thought that was a borderline junior college with a decent basketball team. I'm an OSU guy, but I root for any Big 12 team during bowl season. OU should absolutely KILL UConn!

While I am amazed that UConn is actually going to a BCS bowl game it is only because the Big East sucks in football. It will be interesting to see what TCU does in the Big East.

UConn is definitely NOT a borderline JC. Football is not as big as basketball but it is growing tremendously. They have only been playing Div I-A football for about ten years and the old stadium was like HS. Our company donated land in E.Hartford and a new stadium was built but it still only holds about 45,000.

Relative to basketball, a "decent team"?? That's pretty funny. I can attest that Big East basketball is huge and makes Big 12 basketball look minor league. I have been to OU games that were nationally televised and they had to ask people to move to the better seating so the arena didn't look as empty on national TV. I have also been to UConn games that were incredibly loud with no empty seats.

But I digress, OU should wipe the Fiesta Bowl field with UConn. I hope not, but they should. If I had not attended school at UConn I would likely pull for OU (dang it hurts to say that so much lately)

I see UConn didn't make the top 25 BCS list.

Just saw OSU has Arizona in Alamo also. I think both the Oklahoma teams will win.

UConn was a I-AA school until this past decade. Pretty impressive run they've had in the last 10 years to make it where they are today. Still think they will get killed though.


Wouldn't make more sense for Stanford to go to AZ (instead of FL), and Conn to FL (instead of AZ)? This has to be a set up. A softball tossed to my Sooners

Face it, there is a reason Stoops eats his cherrios off a plate. If he puts them in a bowl, he either loses them or chokes. So, dont put too much into this "superiority" over UCONN.

Dont get me wrong, I am pulling for OU on this one. Just saying...

All of the ranked Big 12 teams are playing unranked teams in bowl games this year.

I agree 100% with going to a playoff system but I doubt it would have helped OSU this year since a playoff system would likely involve eight team. It's unfortunate that both OK teams will be playing unranked teams in the bowls but they need to not assume an automatic win, we have seen strange things happen with bowl games.

You forgot about the Cotton Bowl with Texas A&M and LSU. Might be the most exciting bowl game for the Big 12 from a quality of game standpoint.

True. Did forget about that one. Should be a good game. I would really like to see A&M beat the hell out of LSU and Les Milkes though.
