I use lacquer sticks from Brownell's. They look just like crayons and have the texture of a grease pencil, I clean the area and then just swipe them over the markings until they are filled in and then wipe the access off, one the lacquer has cured, its in there for good.....if you decide you want to remove it, mineral spirits will do the job.

That DPMS stamp looks good in red.

Your engraving doesn't look as deep as mine, though. Wonder why that is?

I just ran a crayon over mine. It took me all of 30 seconds to do. You just move the crayon back and forth over the roll marks. Then wipe it down with some break free. With a crayon, it is really simple.
