I run with mine regularly - either with an M1A or a piece of square steel tubing slung across my back. I put about 1.5 quarts of water in it - it is a 3 quart capacity. If I get it too full, the rifle doesn't ride right, it tends to slip to my side. The last bladder lasted 3 years, and many miles.

Good to know. Thanks TK!

I run a biathalon backpack sling from rifles only for my bolt gun, it evened the load out & not much bounce. I put it on my AR, but will not make run this summer.
I wear a cheap hydration pack back from academy, I like the pack because it acts as a layer of padding between the rifle & my back. I run the SOE micro rig an love it. I have only had the chest rig for 1 of 4 runs but it keeps everything easy to get to. I have a kydex mag holder for a rifle mag & pistol mag on the belt for fast reloads. I keep a cheat sheet, with the summary of each stage and adjustments if I dial scope, as well as reminders to rezero scope. This way when I am tired I can look at the sheet and make sure my ammo situation is squared away for the next stage.

I am on the minimalist gamer side. I have learned from experience to take an extra rifle & pistol mag, if a mag hits the dirt it is hard to clean on the run, if two mags get dirty that clean third may make all the difference.

I go with a full belt. 5 pistol and 5 AR mags. Pistol also holds a mag for 6 total at 19 each plus 1 in be hole is 115 rounds pistol and 150 rounds of rifle. I've never come close to running out. I could go lighter but I'd rather have more than not enough.

I started with a chest rig but found it to be too constricting, contemplated a belt but decided to try a gun toting pack. With a few modifications it has worked out well in practices anyway. We'll find out in a week how it works in the real competition.

Snuck out on the county road for a run this morning in full gear then shot for a while in my pasture. The road was a fresh change from the normal pasture run. After shooting i was feeling good so I decided to run some more out on the road, about a 1/2 mile from the house a local policeman pulled beside me and said he'd received a call about a guy toting a AR. I explained the situation as he drove along beside me, he laughed and said 'they forgot to mention you had it in a pack, good luck b/c you sure look tired', turned his vehicle around and headed back to town. I think it was a crew working on the railroad spur that called because I hadn't seen more a few cars/trucks on the lightly traveled road and I remember the crew giving me a funny look when I passed them. Oh well, guess ill stick to the pasture running when i carry the gun, sure dont want to freak anybody out.

Question... Is it possible to release the order on Friday so a man doesn't show up at 7 am and not run until noon? Also, is there room to set up a camping trailer?
