When canting if you rest your barrel on the barricade that introduces another factor. Several years ago I had a factory 20" heavy barrel remington with the "flexible" hogue stock, when I changed to a manners stock it changed the POI 1.5 " vertically @ 200 yds. I knew in prone position the barrel touched the stock but was surprised by the difference when I changed out the stock.
I point this out because AR 15's have everything from heavy to pencil barrels.
Thanks for the read.
Nice work on the barricade.

I push in and rest on my Handguard, try to stay away from barrel deflection. However KMR is free float, for those without free float rails they will have to watch how much the press on the board. I find that if I lean into it, my stance is more firm and the scope stays on target. Just another point of contact to hold the rifle still to get good hits

Yeah, another way to think of it is that normally, your rifle is sighted in to compensate for gravity when it is pulling straight down in the direction of the mag well. Your barrel is aimed up in relation to your sights so the bullet will fall onto your POA. When you cant, gravity is not pulling that way anymore, but your zero is still trying to compensate for it by aiming the barrel up a little extra... which will cause you to overshoot in the direction of the top of your rifle. Also your zero does not take into account the way gravity is now pulling, so the bullet will hit lower to the ground the more canted you are. These effects are increased by the height of sights over bore, and distance to target.

That's why I dumped the Tavor, besides it being a pig. Sight over bore sucked. Had to shoot at 90 degrees last winter at 250, glad I had shot the VTAC board before.

Good stuff. I've been working on this too since last year. This match has definitely forced me to up my game a bit. Thank you!

Great, another scope dope. Thought you would run that old battle rifle with irons!

(Mostly messing with you. It's fun to watch all the different set ups that come through)

I need to check the old Mauser out on offsets before the run. They were nearly a non-issue with my AR
