Says the guy too scared to do the event in the Summer. :buttkick:

I actually came back here just now to edit my post because I was afraid I'd offend someone I don't really know all that well yet. I'm glad to see it was given right back to me! I fully expect to get **** in return, and when a mousegunner DOES beat me for him/her to throw (Ok - gently set. You don't want to break it!) their weapon at my feet and say "HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?!?!?"

All in good fun - anyone who runs this course gets my full respect. Even if it's with a .22LR.

And my apologies to the ladies (and men) doing the scores. It is always easy to volunteer someone ELSE to do more. I'll shut up now and be thankful for all that you already do!

Ha! It's all cool. If I could afford a 7.62 and the ammo that's what I'd be running at this event.

What if you walk it?

I walked it last year with my Garand, this year I am doing with an AK but will still be walking most of it.

I let having a really bad year be an excuse to not train until the last minute. And then spent most of December sick. Not making excuses, I plan to finish and do so better than last year. But I am pretty mad at myself.

Yup, even if you walk it. Even walking it you are getting out and doing more than 98% of people who talk a good game when it comes to gear, guns, fitness, and fortitude.

This. Walk, crawl, run, whatever - it's all getting out and DOING IT, which is what really matters. Hell - bring a guy in a wheelchair, and I'll guaranty we'll find enough folks to carry him through the parts of the course he can't wheel so he can finish.
