People always get excited when their little ones are up. It’s also really hard to get any decent photos from the stands. Unless she was there past her own kids 1-2 minute heat you need to let that one go. My wife has been a swim coach and two of my daughters are currently on swim team. This is ALWAYS how it is. Mainly stay out swimmers/coach’s way on deck.

Problem is, it's a different one or two for EVERY heat. Also, I like to watch all the swimmers you get to know through the years. Not just mine. You can stand at the rail on the ends of the pool. It's not like every camera can't zoom in. It's winter time so they're swimming short course (25 yards) you don't have to be pool centered to take pics of both ends.

I think it's not that they are intentionally ignoring the signs. I think it's just that they are so wrapped up in their own world that they are oblivious to the world around them and don't notice the signs.
