I wish I knew the age range of the ones voting "not cool." I wonder if that could be part of it. I just turned 45 today and I think they are cool. If I were not so afraid of looping the R1 I would ride them like crazy.

Start small with little power wheelies they come up soft and slow and are easy to keep under a foot or two off the ground about 25mph in first and I could bring it up easily, I had a cbr954rr that thing was a mother to keep the front wheel down on when the throttle was manhandled. Remember to keep the rear brake covered clutched wheelies come up fast if it scares you dab the rear and it'll set back down. You'll be miles away from the balance point before you chicken out the first time. Don't clutch up first gear...

Tank tops, shorts, low tops, and sun glasses are gear.

Based on the avatar you used to use and reading your posts over the years I'm pretty sure you're a biker (as am I - for the past 40 years). And probably a darn good one with lots of experience.

That said: if what you said above is not sarcasm then eventually - no matter how good you are - that's gonna catch up with you and what might have been a dropping the bike type spill could end up with you in hospital for weeks.

The numbers are against that type of gear. Lots of guys - especially young guys (myself included way back when) think they're immortal. Bad accidents always happen to the other guy not them. Right up until the day when they become the other guy.

It always amazes me when I see OSA'rs who wouldn't consider doing stupid crap with a gun think nothing of doing stupid crap that's arguably more dangerous than doing stupid with a gun and don't give it a 2nd thought.

Wierd - just plain wierd.

Get off my lawn.
Yep it was sarcasm. I wear full gear year round. Full face helmet, textile jacket with back, shoulder, elbow pads, boots, and minimum jeans. My wife just passed the MSF class and got her M too. I've been riding on 2 wheels for at least 15 years. I got my M when I turned 14. 12 years ago.

Figured as much.

But having taken my share of lumps in the last 40 years I feel duty bound to pass along what little wisdom I have - asked for or not.

I saw a guy wipe out in the parking lot last night at bike night. It was entertaining. After they pulled the bike off him he stood up and said "I think i had to much to drink". ha ya think

Some kids like to hear a semi honk, some kids want you to do a wheelie!!! Busa's make for some of the best wheelies!

Busa's do make for good wheelie's, I totaled mine doing a wheelie, I was riding with some buddies and for some reason I thought since I had the fastest bike, I would blow past them on 1 wheel. But 60mph on 1 wheel on a residental street at 2AM was a very stupid idea. A drunk guy was driving home and ran a stop sign, I hit his back bumper while on 1 wheel. My bike was totaled I wasn't hurt too bad though. Since he had been drinking and I had been riding reckless we decided not to call the wreck in.

I have most of the pieces of the bike, but I am glad that it is not running, it had too much power and I know I would still be doing stupid stuff on it.

Ridin wheelies is obviously not for everyone.. Crash or not the joy of seeing someone who can really ride a good wheelie is pretty cool. I know most people look and go that dumbass needs to blah blah blah.. I have said the same thing. I can admit though they are alot of fun to do on a 4 wheeler just dont have the balls to try it on a bike on a highway..
