Permission Area For Members (Not Family Friendly)

Would you like to see an area only available to members who ask permission to be part of. Rules would be lax, but no illegal activities, and no personal attacks of any member (past or present). Regardless of whether you would like to be part of it would you like to see an area to keep the front room area family friendly?

I realize there would be content other than porn...hopefully that came across with my "adult" label. My main point is these sub-forums are rarely as harmless as they appear, except to those who want and use them.

I dont see a problem with having an "Adults only" section. Seems the last time they tried a crackdown on "bad" people and tried to make this site a church social a lot of people left...many never came back.Im sure the previously mentioned 17 month absent moderator remembers that.

I have been here since Feb, and the only active Mod, that I have seen has been our Hero Lady Moderator that goes by the name of Pattie! She has been a very active and helpful moderator. I have also had some help from 1911sooner. But that is the only two I have seen be active on here, so that is proof enough that the board is a good board, to have so many moderators and only two are active. That speaks volumes about this place.

I think you misunderstood and think this section would be a porn section. It would not be a porn section. Cursing wouldn't be frowned upon. Distasteful jokes about somebody's political choices wouldn't be frowned upon. This area shouldn't even be seen by newbies. If they want to join in more adult content, they have to be an active member for 90 days, and then petition for membership, this would also help to weed out the juvenile members.

Got to disagree again on this one. It will in fact help the board grow, you cannot tie adults hands up. Give them an area to play in and the rest of the board will grow, the rest of the board will cleanse itself. And more activity will occur in the General Sections of the main site's reason of existence. I have seen it do so on three different sites, Motorcycle, ATV, and UTV sites.

The very things that you moderators will have to moderate will slowly self police, you will see people erase threads, you will see people post things like "take this to the Hotbox", " this belongs in the Hotbox" etc. etc. And it will be easier to maintain.

I have not been here all that long, and I really don't see much at all wrong here, great group of people, I don't see nasty porn, bad language, threats etc etc. anyway on here. This is already a great clean board. But it still needs a venting place, a no rules place.

Yep I agree. If i start seeing threads n posts disappear again, I'll just go back to surfing other sites. OSA is fun because it's a State Community of regular folks. GenDisc and the classified see the most action. Get to strict n ppl will find another coffee shop to hang out in. It's happened before.

Will you have a clicker to turn on and off the "HotBox" area for people who are registered but only want the regular stuff when kids are around and then click to see the rest at other times?

To me, if I am interested in the content that may be in the "HotBox" area, I can take a look. If that is not my interest area for the day I had rather it not be automatically mixed in with the regular stuff when I click "what's new."
