The way it sounded to me wasn't really different from now. I didn't see where it was giving someone the right to carry a loaded firearm around for protection like you can with a license. I might have misread it but I didn't think I did. I also didn't see where it would do away with the handgun license. I may be way wrong. Maybe someone that better understood it can explain it to me better.

I think this may be it:

A. A person shall be permitted to carry loaded and unloaded
shotguns, rifles and pistols, open and not concealed and without a
handgun license as authorized by the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act
pursuant to the following conditions:

7. When carried in a holster that is wholly or partially
visible or in a scabbard, case or with a sling designed for carrying
firearms that is wholly or partially visible and the person is
eighteen (18) years of age or older. Any person who carries a
firearm in the manner provided for in this paragraph shall be
prohibited from carrying the firearm into any of the places
prescribed in subsection A of Section 1277 of this title; or

8. For any legitimate purpose not in violation of the Oklahoma
Firearms Act of 1971 or any legislative enactment regarding the use,
ownership and control of firearms.

Bills in Oklahoma are required to display the entire text of a section being amended. Additions are underlined, subtractions are stricken.

I like it, but I also wonder just how much revenue cc licences generate. Don't see the state giving up a source of revenue anytime soon.
You would still have to have a license to CC so there would be no revenue loss for CC licenses.

Just ask around, most will tell you that CC is the most tactical way to go and if you don't then you must be seeking attention or trying to prove your manhood. :saywhat:

The whole CC vs OC thing is overplayed. I've seen tons of ubber tactical CC guys not keeping it secret. If you pay attention most will expose it at some time or the other. Carry anyway you want.

But without restrictions is the ultimate goal.

That's getting closer to what I had in Kentucky where I grew up. The open carry of any firearm, loaded or unloaded, is protected by the KY Constitution, as is the right to carry a gun concealed in the glove box of a vehicle. Been that way for 200 years (saddle bags turned into glove boxes). CONCEALED CARRY licenses only happened in KY in the last 20 years.

When KY proposed getting concealed on-person carry, about the same time as OK, the hue and cry there was "How will you know who is carrying a gun if they can conceal it!?!?!?"

And no, everyone in KY does not walk around open carrying just because they can. But when a new neighbor from "up north" called the Sheriff to complain I was wearing a pistol walking and repairing my pasture fence behind his house, the response from the Sheriff was "So What? You better leave him alone since he has a perfect right to wear his gun whenever he wants."
