You would think that on a gun board such as this one that there would be 100% who would support repeal of an unconstitutional gun restriction

Problem is, in light of Heller and McDonald, all restrictions other than owning a handgun for purposes of self defense within the home are presumed Constitutional until determined otherwise.

At the time of the passage of the second amendment, citizens had the right to carry the same type of rifle as the modern soldiers of the time. Why has this changed?

The change has been in the hearts and minds of the people.

John Adams thought that though the Revolutionary War ended with the fighting, the American Revolution was never supposed to stop. It was supposed to be a continuous struggle for liberty, and we were supposed to keep that revolutionary fire in our hearts even after the war was won.

I think the American Revolution died a long time ago. Some of us are trying to revive it, but it is tough with the ignorant and apathetic state of modern Americans.

If you don't like the way things are going, but don't know quite what to do about it, come to an Appleseed. Appleseeders are people who are no longer sitting around complaining about the way things are going... we are actually doing something about it. We could use your help.

That sounds great, really.

So I went to the Appleseed web site. Read the home page - again - great.

Clicked on the event map. Selected OK.

No scheduled events, no future events scheduled.

Checked TX. Lots of events in lots of areas scheduled all the way out to Oct 2011.

I guess we Okies just don't measure up to Appleseed standards or something. Why else would they totally ignore us?

Or maybe? It's us ignoring them.

Either way... :bolt:
