if we're going to get into the management of resources, i would say that most places like cities, many corporations wherein people work to make the money they pay for ponds with fish, and many dirty individuals in the country can ruin entire ecosystems with pollution *and do*. i think we all know water places that we *used* to fish at but can't stand the STINK anymore. haven't fished the arkansas in tulsa, pretty sure you're allowed to there now?

i dunno, i remember the epa said stuff wasn't safe to ingest from those waters and i would believe them, no matter how much work was done for gathering places.

again, if we're going to be throwing stones, i don't think my few fish and some footprints and are going to be making the same impact as say some of those companies that juuuuuuust happen to build by a major natural resource and exploit it.

If you hop a fence you didn’t build it’s called trespassing and if you then fish a pond on that property it’s called stealing making you an entitled thief. Might as well move to California and join the smash and grab crowd who are stealing knowing they won’t get prosecuted. Who’d think we’d have a bunch of woke entitled people here?

WHAT? The Arkansas River that runs through Tulsa is 1000 times cleaner now, than it has been in anyone that is alive now's, lifetime! This as well as all rivers, and streams, world wide, have been used to dump anything they wanted to get rid of, including RAW human waste, ever since there have been settlements along these streams, and rivers, including native Americans! I'm sure this is not the politicially correct way to think, but it is the truth, and everyone smart enopught to get in out of the rain, knows it! Ever town, and city, between Leadville Co. and the Mississippi River, dumps their sewage into the Arkansas River, and always have. The difference is, now the RAW sweage is treated, and just a few decades ago it was RAW!

OG&E POWER PLANT PARTNERSHIP

In 2021, ODWC began a partnership with OG&E allowing for special fishing clinics at closed to the public portions of OG&E-owned water bodies. Events have been held at Horseshoe Lake, Sooner Lake and River Valley. This fall's special clinic is at the inflow channel on Sooner Lake on Friday, October 7 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Participants will get the opportunity to target hybrid striped bass, saugeye, catfish, carp, largemouth bass and sunfish.

The event is FREE and participants will be served lunch. 50 spots are available on a first come-first serve registration. Participants are exempt from a state fishing license during the event.

Fishing equipment, including rods, reels and tackle, will be provided for use at the event. Upon arriving at the gate, participants will undergo a brief security check and then be escorted to the event parking area by OG&E staff.

All fishing during the event is catch and release only.
