I want to change my vote.

Post immediately as long as you pay a membership fee. Most of us can swing $20 per year. Use the fees to maintain the site and fund those Uncle JB give aways.

$20 gets you immediate, free gets you a 6 month waiting period and 100 posts.

I would be good with that except my post count is stunted due to deleted post and that one thing........

I just want everyone to do well and have a good time. I want the sponsors to make money. I want the members to get good deals. I hope that all of you get to make some new friends, as I have been so lucky to do. So, the purpose of rules in the classifieds, and ALL rules in general, is to give some order to the madness. I don't want OSA to be one of those sites where newbies get attacked by "the cannibals" in general discussion as they do on some other sites. We don't have any of that here that I have noticed. Usually, the only time someone gets attacked is if they are trolling.

The whole issue of price gouging in the classifieds has been difficult for us as mods to deal with. The market determines the price and we have to balance freedom of the market with trying to protect the members. Believe me, we have deleted a lot of things most of you have not seen. It's just extremely difficult to draw a line in the sand when the beach keeps expanding underneath our feet.

I'm a member of a Nikon forum where you have to have a post count of 300 before you even have access to the classifieds. I've been a member there for 3 years now and don't have access to the classifieds, but that's not why I joined. I do think something like that is needed here. Maybe not 300 posts, but a mix of post and time is the way to go I think. Anyone can pay $20 to get access to buy and sell guns which is what I think we don't want.

I think being a member longer is a good idea and a higher post count, but 100 might be too much. I'm on here hours a day but read and listen more than I comment its just my personality

We've been having around 1,000 people at a time on this site and maybe 60%, if not more, are not logged in or not a member.
