Finally getting around to addressing my interest in AR-15's I've never "built" one before and I've been looking over the PSA site. Think I've gotten a good series of parts for a complete rifle. Here's a list

UPPER
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa...th-mbus-sight-set-no-bcg-or-ch-516444706.html

BCG
https://palmettostatearmory.com/too...n-bcg-with-carpenter-158-bolt-5165449729.html

CHARGING HANDLE
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ar15-m16-7075-t6-forged-mil-spec-charging-handle-24080.html

ASSEMBLED LOWER
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ar15-moe-ept-lower-black.html

I know this is a loaded question, but does this look like a reasonable rifle assembly?
Am I missing anything important?

I'm total noob to this and dont really have any real world guidance so I'm going it alone here. Any advise would be helpful.

I decided against purchasing an actual kit as I have no real dedicated workspace to build anything

I'm also hoping PSA actually has the stuff in stock. The site shows available but who knows lol.

That's not a bad price on that upper, actually. It's melonited, MLOK, it's a 1:7 twist and comes with Magpul flip ups, which are about $70 or so themselves. You can get cheaper, but it's definitely not a BAD deal at all.

I'd go with this BCG:
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-5-56-nitride-mpi-full-auto-bolt-carrier-group-516446953.html

Nitride is just as good if not better than nickel boron, in my opinion, and I have some NiB ones. I won't buy another one now that nitride is available and inexpensive.

I do like to spend the extra on nicer charging handles, I find them much more comfortable in operation.

That lower looks fine to me.

Sure, you could go stripped down and cheaper on some stuff, but that's a reasonably nice setup at a good price. Nothing wrong with any of it.

To be honest you don't need a workspace to put one of the kits together, I have put a whole rifle together sitting in the recliner. Will need a hand when torquing to barrel but the rest is easy. Watching Youtube is how I put my first 2-3 together.

I agree with everything @tRidiot says. I have a psa rifle that is a sub moa rifle with hand loads. They make a good product for price. I will say those prices are inflated due to Covid 19. Also PSA has never been quick about shipping especially uppers prior to current issue.

Since your not building the AR. Is there any reason you don't just buy a new one locally? Personally at those prices. I think you should try and find a built rifle locally . Really no benefit to go the route your looking at if your buying a built lower and upper. Nothing you speced out is special.

I bought a kit from OutdoorsportsUSA. The kit itself, didn’t come with a BCG, so i resorted to ordering from PSA. The BCG alone took 2 weeks to even get processed for shipping. Once it finally processed it took about 4 days to ship. If you’re just looking to get the experience of building one, and can’t find the parts you want, I would definitely look into some of the OutdoorsportsUSA’s kits. Mine turned out really well.
