Was shooting down at my home range the other day and noticed a nice spot for a 400yd maybe a hair mor target. I’m relying on google earth for that distance. Will shoot it with a range finder soon. Then I noticed a nice ovalish piece of steel laying outside the shop. Its 24-25” diameter depending on where you measure and it’s a scosh over 1” thick.

The plan soon formulated! I knew I had some baler belting laying around and an old a-frame. I shortened the legs on the a-frame. So my new target was born. I will most likely use a longer horizontal pipe than seen in the picture below. Not much craftsmanship in this project just scrounging stuff up and about an hour of work. That includes the paint that I don’t do but did do. Lol

Yeppers...

...you definitely got some painting to do. You need an image of an Armadillo on that target.

I’ve got some old plates lying around that I am planning to use for the same purpose. No old baler belt so I’ll just be using chain.

Cut out materials for 4 riser mounts for reloading presses today. Welded one together.
A friend of mine has a few Dillon square deal b loaders and one is on a Dillon riser. He mentioned how much more he likes that setup so I decided to build them for him. Mine are a little heavier and a bunch cheaper but I’m not trying to make a living doing it. Yes and to stay consistent I told him the painting was up to him. Well he will need to drill a few holes too since I didn’t have the pattern on hand.

The fall or a picture of the deck????

....ain't no way I'm getting a video of me stepping off the deck.

Oh, and by the way, it is NOT going to be a fancy deck. Just something better than what we had. Our old steps were built with 2"x10" lumber for the main "frame" of each level of the stairs. At my age and with my bum knees, I've grown very tired of making those steps.

The old steps.

OK. We got our new deck finished yesterday, and again, our youngest son was out to help us. Wife has been joking (I think she's joking) that she has her own set of stairs to the deck. Not sure whether she means that she has one that lets her get to the storage building faster or whether she means that if I'm too slow going down the stairs, that she has her own way of egress.

Anyway, three images of the new deck.

She even went so far to build a small platform to serve as a step going from the deck into the RV. That helps my bum knees pretty well.
