Dont forget you need a place for the rat snake to hide. So he can scare the !:#$& out of someone while colleting eggs.
Lol. They haven't had anything get in their stationary coop/building yet but the largest gap anywhere in it is 1/2". The expanded metal on this one is 3/4" and ofcourse it has no bottom.

I dunno about makin the thing outta all metal. Might have roasted chicken durin the hotter weather.
The hut/box part is gonna be 3/16" plastic sheeting stuff. A buddy of mine bought several pallets of it a couple years ago in a surplus deal. I'll put some ventilation in it. I agree with ya. I got the visual of the girls opening the door to fried chicken!

Childrens toy box/bench.

I didn't make it. My dad made it for my daughter when she was about 3 or so. Ready for another! After the wrath of one 3 year I refinished it for my grandaughter who just turned 3. Not real happy that it turned out so glossy. When the can says low gloss, well I guess it's subjective. LOL. The lines you see in the pic are reflections. Grrr....

3/16 thick plastic, that's near as heavy duty as that frame.. Your egg layer box, I'd suggest wood as it shouldn't absorb and radiate heat like plastic or metal.. My 1st tractor I'll obsolete soon as I have other containments, it's too heavy and requires the truck or tractor to move it.. The new pvc I can move by hand bits at a time, LOL I can't just grab ahold of it and pull it in one motion.. I'd need more rocks in my pocket and what I have.. The chickshaw will be the next system we try..
