I have a 24" piece of rail that came from my grandfather. He was an engineer with the Missouri Pacific. I'm now 72, and he had it in his shop as long as I can remember. I don't use it often, but when I need it, it still does the job.

I thought that's the main reason kids want to grow up and be engineers...Besides, I'd hate having to toot that horn for every dang crossing.
